What happens if illegal work is found at my company?

“Assistance in engaging in illegal work” such as the following acts may apply. In this case, imprisonment of up to three years or a fine not exceeding 3 mn yen or both apply according law.

  1. Act of engaging a foreign national employee in illegal work for your business
  2. Act of keeping a foreign national under your control to engage him/her in illegal work
  3. Act of engaging a foreign national in illegal work as business or facilitating the act of ②

To employ foreign national employees, you are required to hire those who have an appropriate status of residence or make them obtain it. Consult an expert such as an administrative scrivener if you are not sure.
